Once at home with his gran, out of the school grounds, away from his tormentors, John covers up the story of how his glasses were broken. His gran says she will get them fixed, but John puts them on his bedside table instead. During the night, needing a glass of milk, John fumbles for his glasses, forgetting that they had been damaged the previous day. And then, as he lifts them up to put them on his face, the most remarkable thing happens. They begin to GLOW! John encounters Gismoh, a supernatural being who whisks him away to the Unseen Realm.
