The idea for the story "The Scourge" came to me while I was driving through Arizona and the California desert one late night, looking at the ominous dust clouds filled with circling night hawks against the windy night sky. It looked creepy at best. When I got to my motel room, on the side of the table, I read a holy bible about Matthew, Jesus, who chased out the demons. I put them together and figured that anyone could be in hell, so the selection of characters was almost infinite. I would also see the rail cars filled with tanks and other military equipment crossing the desert. On one memorable occasion, I noticed a rail car loaded with migrant workers crossing the same area, so I decided to use that in my story. This is how the idea of The Scourge was birthed. Writing "The Scourge," I envisioned what it would take to bring The Legion in Matthew back into modern times. This is not a bible study story; it is a profound, dark, scary novel. There is a lot of violence, action, and sex in the story. These elements were necessary for this type of story to show how it resurfaced on Earth again. Without them, the story would have been lifeless and dull. Plus, taking on the challenge of writing this particular story is considered The Holy Grail of all Horror Stories. The last story element needed to be told from the perspective of two people already in hell who were given a chance to change sides. That gave the story a unique twist. Many have tried to make this happen, but none have succeeded. I hope you enjoy my story if you are a fan of darkness.

I dedicated 26 years to education, serving with the Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District 35 and the Nogales Unified School District. My passion for teaching, especially in reading and mathematics, and my deep-rooted interest in storytelling were evident in my role as a first-and second-grade teacher. After retiring, I strongly desired to continue using my education differently, leading me to the fiction writing world. I am proud to have published Elizabeth! Into the Light and Way Beyond! The Scourge, The Lady of the Lake, The Chronicles of Dark Matter Man, My Darling, I Shall Love You Forever! Elizabeth's Journey and Ithaca! The Warrior Queen of Aslon! My educational journey has been a significant part of my life. I Hold a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Northern Arizona University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Prescott College, and an Associate Degree in Social Work from Pima Community College. I also received my Reading Specialist Endorsement and English as a Second Language Endorsement from the State of Arizona, further enhancing my educational qualifications. As a teacher, I was also a storyteller and could entertain groups of students and keep them interested momentarily. This is what motivated me to become an author. As a writer, I aim to offer my readers new and fresh creative stories. This commitment to innovation and originality drives me to write. My inspiration often comes from everyday life, and I enjoy weaving these experiences into my narratives. Every story I create presents unique challenges, and I eagerly embrace them, knowing they will lead to a unique and captivating reading experience for my audience. My wish is to produce stories and novels that will captivate my readers. That is who I am and set out to be.
