Alexandre Najjar was born in Lebanon in 1967 and is a lawyer and a literary critic. He has won many prizes, among them the Bourse de l'Ecrivain, the Prix de Poésie de la Ville de Paris, the Prix du Palais Littéraire, and the Amsterdam Prize.
