Lastly, findings revealed that newspaper reports on insecurity helped in tackling national insecurity problem by enabling the masses to evade from further of such occurrences. However, despite the fact that the newspaper is playing informative role with its reports on insecurity in Nigeria, its effort in tackling national insecurity problem has been less effective. The study recommended among others that the government, through security agencies should be in alliance with newspapers and other media channels in order to eliminate insecurity in Nigeria.
