He was missing for eight months, and it was assumed by all who loved him that he had met a dreadful fate and was gone forever. How wrong we were! Many of the animal characters featured in the tale are alive and well today: Sophie, the yellow lab, felines, Sonny and Cher and Hop-a-long Harry (aka Tripod), and Miss Mocha and Mr. Porter, the chocolate labs. Most importantly, Einstein the very wise cat is still alive and thriving. When he is not hiding in the loft of the old red roofed barn in New Hampshire, he can be found dozing on the cozy hearth of the fireplace.
