However, implementation is still not widespread among public authorities in Europe, with many public authorities unsure of how to proceed or simply unaware of the potential benefits. The Procura+ Manual - A Guide to Cost-effective Sustainable Public Procurement has been written to provide European public procurers with all they need to know to implement sustainable procurement in their authority - no matter what size or level of experience. It presents the approach taken by Procura+, ICLEI's Sustainable Procurement Campaign - an approach based around five milestones, and a set of easy-to-apply key purchasing criteria for six high-priority product groups - buses, construction, cleaning products and services, electricity, food, and IT equipment.
