Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Cindy found sport in her late teens as a competitive triathlete and canoe and flatwater kayak paddler. She attended The University of Ottawa, Queen's University and McArthur College, earning degrees in Exercise Physiology, Psychology, and Education. She has over 40 years of continued education and service to athletes as an educator, instructor, and coach, along with racing herself, from local fun events to World Championship level. Sport was a way for her to connect, to build friendship and community while living in different countries over those years. It was how she found meaning and realized her purpose in life. Her education, experience, and insights have led her to develop a unique style and skillset to work with her athletes. A focus on finding purpose and growth; digging into motivation, mindset, strength, and mobility, along with a personal commitment to encouraging athletes to see beyond results, sets her apart from traditional coaching models. She has worked with athletes from teens to over 70, including triathletes, rowers, runners, equestrians, paddlers, hockey players, swimmers, and stroke survivors.Cindy walks her talk, and encourages her athletes to do the same. In guiding many athletes over the years to their athletic goals, she also encouraged them to see the bigger picture of their journey. She sees herself as a midwife to the human spirit, helping people give birth to things from inside of them that they don't even know are there, through the vehicle of sport. This book is her contribution to the evolution of human consciousness from its human to divine nature.
