These shifts have acceleratedthe practices associated with musical globalisation,causing new 'accented' cultures to develop,absorbing, influencing, reflecting and refracting newhost milieux. These changes have impacted on musicalpractices, destabilising core assumptions anddisturbing long established hierarchies.
