She was inspired to write this book after her trips to India through the American India Foundation and Roshni Academy, where she learned about the hidden obstacles that women face in the villages and slums of India. Sophia believes that empowering women is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and hopes that her book will inspire others to join her in taking a stand against gender-based violence worldwide.
