In this overtly delightful work, McNickle gives us the Texas Declaration of Independence (in case it's needed someday), an analysis of Wonder Woman's most unusual punch, and a journey into the disappointment he has (and bets you share) with the name of the world's second-highest mountain. As if that weren't enough, and it's not, McNickle also points out why it's probably good that he wasn't Abraham Lincoln, he takes a crack at the obvious need for a new curse word, and he includes his controversial letter to the Pope, which would've been even more controversial had it ever been mailed. McNickle's book is both widely appealing and wildly original. Other encomiums also apply. As if that weren't enough, and it isn't, the book has deeply witty drawings by illustrator and Emmy-winning animator Michael Diederich.
