As a scientist, she's set adrift in her new world, unable to grasp the workings of a planet that doesn't seem to follow any of the rules she's accustomed to. They're a powerful species with abilities far beyond anything Mai could have ever dreamed of, and the best part is, they're entirely peaceful... unless her superiors have been keeping things from her. When an attack on the settlement shatters its walls, Mai and her wife find themselves amongst a curious group of survivors trying to navigate the perilous forests of Erde-Zwei where the mushrooms are as bright as flash grenades, the trees laugh and dance in harmony with the invisible entities in the sky, and dangerous creatures lurk just beneath the forest floor. But survival never comes without sacrifice, and Mai must decide how much of herself she's willing to lose to make it in the new world.
