In the diocese he worked as rector of the seminary Father Zumel when the then bishop was Bishop José Vázquez Díaz, he was a teacher at the Odilon Parente Gymnasium in the diocese of Bom Jesus known as Father Carrozas. Dom Ramón went through very hard trials, to create new clergy, fully native, leaving all the municipalities of the diocese, with a priest, parish house, pastoral community center. He found the diocese with six priests and left it with more than 25. He had a deep devotion to Our Lady of Mercy.
