We have always had climate change with us for over the past four and a half million years, from the entire Earth freezing over to horrendous desertlike conditions. Even now, we are still in the last phase of an ice age. Before we attempt to settle and colonize Mars, we must modify and improve the harsh and hazardous conditions on the surface of Mars. It will likely take a hundred years just to make the conditions tolerable and at least a thousand years to terraform Mars to approximate Earthlike conditions. We have entered into a dazzling new era in lighting sources and controls.
