Television plays a decisive role in shaping people's consciousness. Many interact with other realities and cultures through what they see on screen. On the other hand, there is a noticeable dominance in the television apparatus, impacting people's consciousness and their way of life. To this end, Critical Theory thinkers are references in the study of the tricks that triggered the domination of people in the 20th century, in the spread of paralysis and acceptance of living conditions. Information, access to cultural and material goods, and consumption were not enough to enlighten individuals. On the contrary, they largely produced passive beings. This fact is reinforced by targeted cultural mediations. Based on this, this research analyzes the cultural mediation of Regina Case, host of the program Esquenta!!, on Rede Globo de Televisão. The program is based on manifestations that construct a false consciousness.
