A mother of two, Gieck has been writing children's books, short stories, and poems for over fifteen years. She graduated from the Institute of Children's Literature, where she received honorable mentions in numerous contests. In her spare time, she cares for her beautiful vegetable garden, and bakes and decorates tasty cupcakes. Gieck enjoys camping with her family in the Colorado mountains, cruising out on the open seas, and salsa dancing with her husband.
