A virtuoso of poetry decorated with most of the major literary awards and prizes in Chinese literary communities, Chen has also been highly accomplished in other literary genres, having published profusely in fiction, prose, lyrics, and plays, as well as poetry. His corpus has been translated into many languages, including English, Japanese, German and more. Quite a number of his poems have been included in the official textbooks for Chinese literature in some Chinese communities around the world. In the past few years, with his creativity venturing beyond literature to conquer more realms such as visual art and installation art, Chen has already put forward exhibitions of his works in these areas on regular basis in galleries and related venues.
