Sylvia, Cassie's oldest sister, Tess, their cousin, and Janet, Cassie's lifelong friend make up what they call the weekend circle. The women have enjoyed, throughout their young life, the circle that keeps them from the psychiatrist and the hoard of men that they might have felt the need for.
