This work was exploratory in nature and sought to study the impact of bariatric surgery on the couple relationship from the perspective of male spouses. Obesity surgery was a 'path' found as a magic formula to solve a problem that has multiple dimensions, and therefore leaves gaps and thus a need for research. This study sought to symbolise the meaning of surgery for husbands and how it affected their relationship. Surgery comes as a necessity for change, and thus dislodges the relationship. Separating isn't easy, it's surgery, in this case, surgery for two.
