This study examines the extent of alcohol consumption in the workplace in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, in 2014. With a prevalence of 65.14% among workers, alcohol consumption is significantly higher than in the general population. The results show that this consumption is influenced by several occupational factors such as stress, mental workload and difficult working conditions. It has significant health, occupational and economic consequences, including increased absenteeism, lower productivity and increased risk of workplace accidents. This situation highlights the absence of appropriate prevention policies in the country, unlike in other nations. The study proposes recommendations for integrating strategies to combat alcohol consumption in Burkinabe companies, in order to safeguard workers' health and improve the country's economic performance.
