McNab and Bell can only solve the crime and find out where, when and how the Adjutant was killed by remembering the old legend about the phantom lone piper of the castle.The Dragon's Tooth - McNab is called to the National Museum of Scotland in the middle of the night where the Nightwatchman has found the body of one of the staff apparently killed by 'a dragon'. When McNab arrives, he finds the body with multiple teeth marks in its chest lying beneath the open jaws of the exhibited skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex. How the victim was killed, what was the motive and what part did the dinosaur play in the murder becomes a complex series of deductions from McNab and his ghostly friend Dr. Bell.
