The story and illustrations for this book were done by Jane Reid. People think the elephants given to Sarah on her fifth birthday are just toys. She knows differently. They are not, and decide to join her, travelling to London and going to Victoria Station, where they catch a train to Newhaven and are helped to get on a boat and reach Dieppe, after which they get lifts to the south and after an adventure...
