This book entitles poems of which I have been writing since I was 15 years old. It depicts moments in my life which I was struggling, and had no way to express myself other than to write poetry. Titled 'The Evolution of Me', this book depicts exactly that. These poems are in order of when I wrote them, over the course of nine years. It shows how I evolved from darkness into light. Titled 'The Evolution of Me', this book depicts exactly that. These poems are in order of when I wrote them, over the course of nine years. It shows how I evolved from darkness into light. There is much emotion in this book, as I struggled through mental health, heartbreak, and loss. Poetry was and still is my coping mechanism. This book was written with the intent for readers to see that they are not alone when struggling through mental health or loss. It is a book of reflection, meaning that I want readers to be able to interpret each poem and relate it back to themselves. As much as it is an emotional ride, I also want it to be comforting to the readers in knowing that each struggle is just a step in your journey in evolving into the person who you are meant to be.
