After the supernova of the nearby star, Dega, which mysteriously doesn't annihilate the solar system, he is given a rare third chance at his career as a pilot. Along the way, he meets Dr. Tobias Pherringer whom has a time-traveling plan to save humanity, which he claims is doomed to fail in the near future, whether or not this mission succeeds. He explains that Brandon and seven others are to survive and, with some technological aid, are destined to repopulate Terra in the future. Only, Terra has dramatically changed, becoming the scifi-fantasy setting for the author's tabletop role-playing game full of the classic fantasy races, magic, and much more.
