Despite, or perhaps because of, its theoretical depth and foundation, it is impressively pragmatic, practical and empirically verifiable at all times. However, a historical overview of the use of the term 'person' clearly shows how widely it has been and continues to be interpreted and used. This term has certainly not reached the end of its evolution in meaning. For as long as there are people and therefore society, both will continue to change, and with them the concept of the person.
