Research done in East Africa has revealed that the teaching of this skill is largely overlooked and the instructional strategies used to teach it lack variety and depth. This text is therefore a result of the author's study of his own practice done in a Kenyan Secondary classroom focusing on learning how teachers of English can integrate the computer in the teaching of oracy in Secondary Schools in East Africa. The text, coming at a time when there is a wide political and policy shift towards e-governance and e-learning in the East African Community provides practical solutions and implications for language teachers and policy makers in the education sector.
