Along the way John also tried his hand at acting and appeared in several films and televisions programs. Sadly John Denver died at age 53 on October 12, 1997 due to blunt-force injuries sustained in a crash of his Rutan Long-EZ Tandem 2-seater aircraft in Monterey Bay near Pacific Grove, California. He left behind a catalog of music still being listened to today.
