Around the same time, Mauldin acquires a new client, Priscilla Brown, who retains him to help negotiate the sale of some multi-million-dollar stock in a closely-held company that her deceased husband acquired a long time ago. As Larry turns up new and interesting circumstances of the deaths and Mauldin finds his client threatened, the two projects gradually merge, the circumstances of the deaths are finally made clear, another death occurs, and the evil-doers are identified.
