Many of these coins were collected from all parts of south India, particularly the Mysore region. The Arabic-Persian inscriptions inside the gold and silver coins bear the testimony of the past. This book is one of the few, which discusses the numismatic history of southern India. Lastly, the volume is important from the perspective of economics and metallurgical studies, which was prominent during the eighteenth century history of South India before the annexation by the British crown.
