This research is the result of a study carried out in the East Structural Corridor of Uberlândia-MG, located on Avenida Segismundo Pereira, where 11 boarding/disembarking stations and an integration terminal are being built. Considered to be an infrastructure for public transportation, the aim of this study is to present its implications based on its implementation process, seeking to understand the socio-spatial repercussions caused by the work before its official inauguration, scheduled for 2017. Based on the breadth of urban mobility studies, it was decided to present the transformations linked to the development of policies that encouraged the use of individual motorized vehicles to replace railroads at the beginning of the 20th century, when the entire electric streetcar system was extinguished in favor of buses as the main form of urban public transport in Brazilian cities. Located in the Triângulo Mineiro mesoregion, Uberlândia has become an important integration node for other Brazilian regions, where many public transport infrastructures have been set up in its vicinity.
