"The Frostshade Cliffs are days away, and the longer the Bloodstone remains exposed, the more it will attract." Kael studied the map, nodding. "We'll take the northern pass. It's the fastest route." If you're looking for guarantees, you won't find them here." Her jaw tightened. "I'm not looking for guarantees. Just a little common sense." Kael smirked. "Don't worry. I'll keep you alive." "Gee, thanks," she muttered. Elias stepped closer, his amber eyes serious. "The Bloodstone chose you for a reason, Amara. That reason will reveal itself in time, but until then, you need to trust Kael-and yourself. The road ahead won't be easy, but it's the only one we've got." She nodded, the weight of his words settling over her like a shroud. "I'll do what needs to be done." Kael's expression softened, a flicker of respect in his gaze. "Then let's get moving."
