It is generally accepted that nanotechnology involves the manipulation of matter on a scale of 1 to 100 nanometers. The nanometer is equivalent to one billionth of a meter. A nanomaterial is composed or constitutes of nano-objects (whose size is between 1 and 100 nm) which presents specific properties at the nanometric scale.
