The Adventures of the Buckaroo Dogs was created by John Erfurth about his three dogs Waddie, Woodrow, and Weslie. He watched them every day on the ranch, doing their jobs. With all the characters they meet in each adventure, the authors placed them on a cow ranch in Eastern Oregon, the last big cow ranch called the Dry Gulch Land and Cattle Company, owned by Rope And Kate Peeler.
