I introduced the class to Libby, a stuffed frog with personality. I explained to the class that Libby would be going home with each one of them to share in their weekend adventures. Each student was to write an entry in Libby's journal describing their adventures together. As the journal entries began to develop, Libby came alive. Each Monday a student brought her back and shared a brand new adventure with the class. Libby became a true member of our class and the students looked forward to their weekend with her. I was amazed at the work that came back each Monday. As I witnessed other students reading Libby's Journal, I saw my student's faces glow with pride. My students brought Libby to life. This book is a collection of her adventures. She has become a unique character with a loving personality who will live in my heart forever. I fell in love with Libby and I know you will too. I hope you enjoy reading about her adventures as much as my students enjoyed writing about them. Libby has developed into an intriguing character.
