Asaye is a multi-professional for he has earned his first degrees in Literature (English Language) and Economics at different times from Addis Ababa University, and MA Degree from China Foreign Affairs University in International Relations. He is a linguist, Economist and more prominently an expert in International Relations. Furthermore he has participated in various trainingsand workshops that enriched his thought on security issues and other diplomatic areas.
