Runyankore-Rukiga is one of the Bantu languages spoken in western Uganda by over 4 million people, ranking it among the top 3 widely spoken languages in Uganda. Apparently, the language is taught at lower primary and University level including Makerere University, one of the greatest Universities in Uganda and on the African continent. In spite of attracting this big number of speakers and effort to teach it, the language is not well documented and lacks literature and instructional materials for teachers. This book which is the first of its kind, comes at an opportune time when the public is yawning for such publications. This book covers the Tense and Aspect system of Runyankore-Rukiga in an elaborate manner. The author, being a native speaker of the Language combines this attribute with his training in linguistics to digitally annotate the data using TypeCraft and develops a corpus of different data sets. The author then uses this corpus to show the Tense and Aspect system of Runyankore-Rukiga. This book will immensely benefit researchers on Bantu languages and lecturers in Higher Institutions of Learning.
