The process of erosion has been continuously affecting the beaches of the municipality of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, a city in the Metropolitan Region of Recife - PE. The disorderly occupation over the last 50 years has aggravated the beach erosion process. The city hall in partnership with the state government implemented the coastal engineering technique known as sediment transposition, beach fattening, to contain coastal erosion, but it has been presenting an accelerated erosive process. For this reason, this Book aims to analyze the multitemporal variability of the coastline, adopting the line of the year 1974 as a reference to perform the calculation of the coastline displacement of the years 1981, 1997, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2016, dividing each year into 4 (four) sectors. The book discusses the results achieved in the temporal monitoring of the last 42 years, and presents an analysis of this coastline, subsidizing the Sustainable Coastal Management of the coast of this Brazilian municipality.
