Tedrow felt it was his duty to look after the silver box and its contents, but he had no one to share the history with - until he thought of his Uncle. But Oncle Mouseear lived far away. He wondered how long it would take to get there and what dangers he would have to face. Then he wondered if he should even try to make the journey. Then he thought about Emmalena. Maybe he could find her somewhere along the way. One sunny morning he strapped a bedroll on his back and put the rope to the silver box over his head and, braving the unknown, left the barn forever, never looking back.
