This book is a rereading and updating of Njoh-Mouelléan development thinking. In his writings, Ebénézer Njoh-Mouellè (1938...) strives to promote development in the broadest sense of the term. For him, a society's development requires an appreciation not only of its economic resources, but also of what really matters to individuals: their freedom, well-being, training and education. For, if everyone is to live a better life in society, we must also be concerned with human development. That's why, for Njoh-Mouellè, if there's one development that must necessarily be promoted, it's the one likely to take man from a mediocre state to an excellent one. This, then, is the essential feature of Njoh-Mouelléan development thinking. The aim of this research project is therefore to show how Njoh-Mouellè's philosophy of human development is likely to contribute to the construction of responsible citizens and sustainable development in Africa.
