Speaking is an important skill for foreign language learners; they take many language courses to improve their speaking abilities. Today language schools are using various new methods in their educational systems toward increasing learners' interactions and communications positively; one of these methods is task-based language learning. It is supposed that foreign language learners should play an active role in their learning, applying the knowledge acquired in the classroom to other situations and have the ability to perform specific tasks. But it seems Iranian learners are not autonomous and they do not have enough self-efficacy in their language learning development. However, this book examines the amount of Iranian students' self-efficacy and autonomy who participated in task-based speaking classes and the author has attempted to investigate the usefulness of task-based speaking activities as an active method of teaching on students' speaking skills on improving learners' self-efficacy and autonomy. The result of this study should useful for the researchers, EFL teachers, learners, practitioners, material developers and educationalists.
