On the other hand, scattering simulations of electromagnetic waves, as recorded with weather radars, were processed to study further attributes. The classification of the particles itself is then a combination of the results from the radar data measurements with the simulated values based on the scattering theory. The unique features of different classification methods with their specific constraints and performance enable the creation of a new classification algorithm. This scheme is well applicable for differentiating between the hydrometeor types especially for the transition from snowflakes over-to melting particles and finally to raindrops.
