Autor

Rebecca L. Toporek is a professor and department chair in the Department of Counseling at San Francisco State University. She earned her doctorate degree in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Toporek's work focuses on multicultural training, privilege and oppression, social justice advocacy, antiracism, empowerment, and career counseling. She and her students partner with the Tenderloin Workforce Development Office to provide "One Stop Résumé" counseling through Project Homeless Connect. In addition, she is involved in a local community coalition to increase community dialogue and is working on several task forces on advocacy and community engagement. Muninder Kaur Ahluwalia is a professor and graduate program coordinator in the Department of Counseling at Montclair State University. Dr. Ahluwalia also works as a consultant to provide diversity assessment, trainings, and programming in higher education and organizations. Her work focuses on multicultural training, counseling racial, ethnic, and religious minorities, race and racism in higher education, and implementation social justice practices. Dr. Ahluwalia and her students also work within the university and partner with various organizations to promote civil rights and mental health awareness in marginalized communities.
