The aim of the study reported in this book was to evaluate the larvicidal potential of eugenol and its synthetic analogues, by modifying the chemical structure of eugenol through organic reactions of nucleophilic substitution in the phenolic hydroxyl or dimerization, characterizing the structures by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and analysis in the infrared region of the chemical structures of the synthesized compounds, finally determining the larvicidal activity of eugenol and its derivatives. New products with potential for dengue control are then proposed.
