The gap between water demand and supply is growing rapidly. To overcome this lack of water, adoption of efficient water saving techniques is the need of future food security. Three field experiments were conducted under surface and subsurface drip irrigation techniques in crop/fruit trees. Parameters likes hydraulic performance of flexible drip pipes used, water consumption, yield of crop/fruit, yield to water ratio of crop/fruit and cost analysis were discussed. The result depicts, yield in vegetable crop and fruit tree for subsurface drip irrigation technique was better than other. The water use efficiency of subsurface drip irrigation system is much more than that of other technique both in vegetable crops and in fruit trees. The objective of study was to carried out the appropriateness of these techniques both crops and fruit trees. The efficiency of these irrigation techniques in relation to yield, yield to water ratio and economic viability of these techniques on different cropping schemes and varying flexibility drip pipes.
