Supply chain management information systems are the information systems between companies that employ information and communication technology to arrange information inside & among the participators of a supply chain such as clients, sellers, providers, and distributors. Companies frequently use a portfolio of supply chain management information systems, which characteristically contain legacy systems linked by electronic data interchange, packaged applications employing Web-based exchange of information or ideas, or some other blend of information connection technology. Thus, the goal of this study is to identify the system s main elements, analyze the system s operational issues, identify the inputs and outputs for each element of the system, define the interfaces between the related activities in the system, design relation data model and develop a prototype SCMIS. It is hoped that the model that has been developed is able to integrate and enrich theories of competitive strategy, supply chain management.
