His books include the definitive Supertankers: Anatomy and Operation; BP Shipping: A Group Fleet History; Athel Line: A Fleet History; three tanker development manuals, and a trilogy describing life at sea aboard cargo ships. He lectures to maritime organisations, and lives in Folkestone.
