Erziehung, , Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Availability of instructional materials, especially those developed by teachers, is critical to the teaching and learning process. Contextually, these are designed to develop learners¿ performance in language, literacy, and communication skills. Indeed, development of instructional materials should be established to make the learning experience better-off and provide the teacher with interest in an extensive variety of learning activities for the learners. This study explored to develop a teacher made instructional supplementary material or intervention tool in reading readiness to uphold students¿ interests and ensure that learning can be enjoyable because of the vigorous interaction between teacher and student. Developmental research, particularly the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) design was employed. It involved twenty kindergarten learners purposively chosen as respondents. Also, it used an unobtrusive collection or secondary analysis of data from learners¿ progress report cards to establish learning constraints as basis for instructional material development. Based on the result of the needs analysis, there is a necessity to design instructional materials on the identified least learned skills particularly on language, literacy, and communication. These skills were properly outlined in the developed instructional material known as "Super Rowbox", a researcher coined term to capture the multitude of instructional materials incorporating ELLN - Explicit Instruction design to facilitate reading readiness of kindergarten learners.
