When her first grandchild, Kena, was born with a hearing loss, Becky's interest in sign language grew. She created an enduring bond with Kena by communicating through sign language. Thanks to Kena, Becky has learned a unique new language and become a first-time author. Becky and her husband Dan are parents to three adult children. They farm small grains and sugar beets in Northern Minnesota and live with their dogs Brooklyn and Shadow.
