Jake re-traces the steps of a series of events that have taken place, which bring him into the world of high-powered car racing. His partner, Anhton Roberts, has a brother, Dan Roberts, who is a driver for one of the Supacar race teams. Experimental enhancements are uncovered, along with mysterious failures to some of the cars at one of the events. It comes to a head when at another event, the teammate of Dan Roberts is killed in an accident. Jake is encouraged to investigate and he deems it murder.
