As the second most popular country in the world with a population exceeding one billion people, India's public health faces many challenges including implementation of surveillance program to accurately estimate and control the national malaria burden. In this book, we try to study the effectiveness of SP as first line chemotherapy for uncomplicated p.falciparum. And identify the "recrudescence" or "re-infection" of p.falciparum malaria using molecular markers. Screening of mutations profile of DHFR and DHPS of p.falciparum identified in different location of West Bengal. Finally study the association of gene mutations with clinical response to SP.
