This book deals with studies relating to preparation methods of activated carbons and silica from rice husk and also the surface modification processes for carbon dioxide adsorption. The present work summarized as follows. Physical properties and pyrolysis characteristics of rice husks have been explored clearly. Silica was successfully isolated from rice husk. Activated carbons are prepared from rice husk by treating with amines, metals, phosphoric acid, ammonium hydrogen phosphate and metal salts for the enhancement of CO2 adsorption to prevent global warming.
